Adapted from George V. Higgins novel and set in New Orleans, Killing Them Softly follows professional enforcer, Jackie Cogan (Brad Pitt), who investigates a heist that occurs during a high stakes, mob-protected, poker game. The soundtrack includes tracks by The Velvet Underground, James Wilsey, Nico, Kitty Lester, Barrett Strong and others... The soundtrack to Killing Them Softly is an eclectic album which collects together a rather bizarre mishmash of music styles. One one hand you have the punk-ish 'Heroin' by The Velvet Underground and on the other you have 'Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries' by Jack Hylton & His Orchestra. Mix into this 'Moon Dance' (a rather odd atmospheric track that wouldn't be out of place in a horror movie) by Carl Stone and 'It’s Only a Paper Moon' (on Ukulele) by Cliff “Ukulele Ike” Edwards and the familiar 'Money (That’s What I Want)' by Barrett Strong and you should know what you're letting yourself in for. The album contains 10 tracks and lasts for 42 min, 05 sec. Track listing: 01 - 'Moon Dance' - Carl Stone 6 Darren Rea |
