The Sessions tells the story of a man who lived most of his life in an iron lung who is determined - at age 38 - to lose his virginity. With the help of his therapist (Helen Hunt) and the guidance of his priest (William H. Macy), he sets out to make his dream a reality... Marco Beltrami's score for The Sessions represents some interesting musical choices. On balance this sounds more like an album of classical music than the score to a movie. It's an interesting choice and works incredibly well, especially when you consider the subject matter. It's an beautiful diversion from Beltrami's usual body of work and is certainly worth picking up if you're a fan of classically scored albums - in fact it brought to mind some of the earlier work (Out of Africa; Raise the Titanic) of John Barry. The album is quite short, lasting just 24 min, 22 sec and contains 13 tracks. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online |
