Written and directed by Oscar®-winner Martin McDonagh, the comedy Seven Psychopaths follows a struggling screenwriter (Colin Farrell) who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends (Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell) kidnap a gangster’s (Woody Harrelson) beloved Shih Tzu. Co-starring Abbie Cornish, Tom Waits, Olga Kurylenko and Zeljko Ivanek... Lakeshore Records's soundtrack release for the movie Seven Psychopaths features various artists as well as a score by Carter Burwell. It's Burwell's score that's the main pull here - the majority of the other tracks have been available to buy previously from other sources. The score is in a similar style to Burwell's score for Fargo. Although in truth it's not as interesting to listen to on its own merits as his earlier score. Burwell's contribution is 10 tracks (making up 18 min, 05 sec) with other artists making up the remaining 9 tracks (38 min, 56 sec) of this 19 track (57 min, 01 sec) album. While interesting enough, this will probably only be of real interest to those who have seen the movie and noticed the score.
