Pressed is a gritty urban soundtrack, featuring original songs by David Steele and other artists, plus a dark and mesmerizing score by Canadian composer Peter Allen (winner of the Leo Award for his Flower & Garnet and Gemini Award nominee for The Score) who is also currently enjoying success with his score for the indie horror hit American Mary. Starring Luke Goss, currently seen in the ABC show Red Widow, and directed by Justin Donnelly, Pressed tells the story about a drug deal going wrong putting the main character in a desperate situation, and the intensity of the drama and the contemporary setting of the story is effectively portrayed in the soundtrack... Peter Allen's score for Pressed is a modern score that throws in some wonderful themes that never outstay their welcome. The addition of various music genre tracks also helps to round off this album. I'm not usually a fan of various artist soundtracks but the different styles really work here. David Steele's hard rock tracks and J. Morris, N. Opong-Agyare and P. Williams's rap song fit neatly alongside the more indie pop tracks. The score lasts contains 18 tracks and lasts for 1 hr, 3 min. Of these, 11 tracks (38 min, 14 sec) is made up of Allen's score. It's an interesting score and certainly one worth checking out. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online |
