Film Music For a New Age: Volume One is the first in an upcoming series of newly recorded/arranged versions of themes that are new age-influenced from films including Avatar, Class of the Titans, Legend, and Star Trek Generations...

Film Music for a New Age takes some chilled music from scores and presents them a little differently.

While on balance this isn't an album I would have bought myself - mainly because I usually find these sort of albums to be cheap cash ins that offer nothing of interest - there are some interesting tracks that offer something a little different than the original. The most notable being 'The Unicorn Theme' from Legend (the full album is also available to buy through BuySoundtrax) which mixes together the original's 'Unicorn Theme' and 'Unicorn Theme (reprise)' to deliver a track which I thought improved upon the original.

This is also an interesting sampler that may entice you to pick up the original albums of a few other scores. There's no doubt that these tracks have been produced with a lot of care, it's just that on balance I prefer to soak up the original.
