The epic tale of Sinbad stars newcomer Elliot Knight in the title role and Lost star Naveen Andrews as his nemesis, supported by a high-octane original score composed by Christian Henson. His music for Sinbad is orchestral in nature with modern film music aesthetics added for a lot of the action material, and exciting ethnic colours added to the traditional sound. The high octane adventure music is balanced by more atmospheric music with a sublime sensual quality... It's always a joy to review a score by Christian Henson and Sinbad is no exception. This score has the heart and soul of Sinbad stamped right the way through it. There's action and adventure themes as well as slower, more beautiful tracks for you to sink your teeth into. Highlights for me included 'Theme from Sinbad' (which is echoed throughout the score); 'Sailing Away'; 'Water Bowls'; 'Sinbad Saves Tigger'; 'Sacrifice'; and 'Sinbad'. To be fair, though, over this album's 30 tracks (representing 1 hr, 12 min, 07 sec worth of music) there's hardly a wasted moment. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
