Telling the story of a policeman who lives the perfect life with a woman and a baby on the way but falls in love with a male colleague, Free Fall (original title: Freier Fall) has been compared to Brokeback Mountain. Soundtrack duo Dürbeck & Dohmen's score is intimate and, for the most part, guitar-driven and somewhat minimalist in style, perfectly capturing the intricate emotions of the main character in the film... I have to admit that I wasn't a fan of Dürbeck & Dohmen's score for Free Fall. It was too raw and full of atmospheric tracks that went nowhere. This is music that's designed to sit quietly in the background and not be noticed by the audience. While this is no doubt fine in the movie, as a listening experience this just doesn't have the legs to stand on its own merits. The album contains 16 tracks and lasts for 35 min, 49 sec. Maybe if you want something to wind down and get you in the right frame of mind for a good nights sleep this will do the trick, otherwise I can't see this score having a very wide appeal. 3 Darren Rea Buy this item online
