UK composer Daniel Pemberton delivers a dark, brooding and emotionally sophisticated orchestral score for a complex story about two police brothers who are forced to investigate a crime they themselves have committed... Blood is Daniel Pemberton's second feature film collaboration with director Nick Murphy, the first being his score for The Awakening (which we reviewed on both Blu-ray and DVD). Once again, like The Awakening, Pemberton has brief moments through out the score for Blood where he is allowed off the leash to showcase his creative talents. Sadly, though, for the most part he is restrained providing atmospheric, and rather cliched, thriller music. While there is nothing wrong with that, it does mean that when listened to in isolation, the score can feel a little flat. Highlights include the tracks 'Blood (To the Islands)' and 'Getting Closer'. But by far the stand out track is 'The Wind Out There'. The album contains 18 tracks and lasts for 44 min, 36 sec. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
