Silva Screen Records have released Daniel Giorgetti and Kevin Sargent’s soundtrack to Abi Morgan's highly acclaimed BBC TV newsroom drama series set in the Fifties. With title music inspired by ticking clocks, '50s cool and the chimes of Big Ben the score is a landscape of classy jazz arrangement which brilliantly evoke the era...

The Hour: Season 1 & 2 - Original Television Soundtrack features music by Daniel Giorgetti (season 1) and Kevin Sargent (season 2). The majority of the tracks included on this score are composed by Sargent. The album contains 24 tracks, representing around 48 mins worth of music.

It's a score you're only really going to enjoy if you have a fondness for '50s TV show music (which this emulates) or a fan of this show in general. The rather dated sound won't be to everyone's taste - and I have to admit that I wasn't a huge fan.

What it does, bringing the sound of the '50s to life, it does well... it's just a matter of whether this is your thing or not.
