End-dances is the new album from Pillars and Tongues. The band, from Chicago, consists of Beth Remis, Ben Babbitt, and Mark Trecka. There's an obvious influence from bands like Dead Can Dance, and the art-prog experimentation of Peter Gabriel’s 4. The band beautifully blend harmonium and violin with synths to produce music that sounds original, while Trecka's vocal's have a ring of David Byrne (Talking Heads) about them. Highlight include the harmonium centred 'Dogs' (which sounds like Talking Heads performing a Penguin Cafe Orchestra composition); the beautiful 'Points of Light'; and the upbeat 'Ships'. The album contains 8 tracks and lasts 48 min, 34 sec. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
