Megan Wyler's new album Through the Noise contains her first two previously released singles 'Through the Noise' and 'The Fraying'. The album opens with 'The Fool' which paves the way for what is to come. This feels more like a second or third album rather than a debt release. There's a confidence and direction to the tracks that usually takes other artists a few years to get comfortable with. There's a folksy mainstream vibe to the album that I've not heard since The Cranberries. Personal highlights include 'The Fool' (which has a wonderful build); 'Can't Sleep'; and 'Drown'. There's a warmth and versatility to Wyler's voice that transforms from track to track. From The Cranberries-esque 'Everyman' to the Avril Lavigne sounding 'Kelebek' to the breathy quality of 'Zither'. The album contains 10 tracks and lasts for approximately 40 mins. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
