Composer Lorne Balfe (Salinger, Assassins Creed III, Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure and Giants) returns to the Skylands with the soundtrack for Skylanders: Swap Force. Embark on an exciting new adventure with the Skylanders and the SWAP Force. For generations, the SWAP Force protected the volcano that replenishes Skylands’ magic. That is until an epic battle caught them in an eruption that blasted them apart, sent them to Earth and gave them the ability to swap powers. Only you can mix and match their tops and bottoms, put them on the new Portal of Power and save Skylands... Lorne Balfe returns to the Skylands universe once more to bring us the soundtrack for Swap Force. Personally, while I enjoyed the score, there weren't as many memorable moments as his previous outings. It's still interesting, and a little wacky - it's good to see Balfe injecting humour through the use of weird instruments and quirky themes, and while tracks like 'Braving Mount Cloudbreak' are interesting, it's obvious you're listening to the music from a bouncy kid's game - the end result is that it's all a little too sickly sweet. Highlights for me included 'Welcome To Woodburrow'; 'A New Chieftess'; and Motherly Mayhem. If you're looking for odd, then 'Iron Jaw Gulch', with it's Western feel and high pitched "Yee-haw" will grab your attention. Equally, 'Pull Your Strings' sounds like a warped Disney movie song. The album contains 18 tracks and runs for around 46 mins. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
