Joey Longo has been a part of the dance music soundscape from way back when, his first records surfacing in 1990 under a variety of monikers and on a slew of labels, but the label copy always bearing the credit ‘produced by Pal Joey’. His latest collection includes 17 songs, representing approximately 1 hr, 19 mins of music.

Its funny how with dance tracks, like those on this album, one little element can drag you in, or turn you off. For example, DreamHouse's 'Jump And Prance (Dream Mix)' has an annoying little yelp that sounds like a small dog - it put me off the entire track; whilst Loop-D-Loop #19 - 'Just The Way You Are' has a sound that reminded me of the mothership in the old arcade Space Invaders game and so, inexplicably I was instantly drawn to it.

There are so many different style's showcased here, but personal highlights include 'Show Me'; 'Raw Love'; 'Spend The Night (Fredo Revisited)'; 'Do What You Want To'.

Loop-D-Loop #19 - 'Playtime' opens with a sampled segment that reminded me of Deee-Lite's ' Groove Is In The Heart' (1990).

It's an interesting album, and one that's perfect to stick on in the background before you spend a night out clubbing.
