More Naked Than Obscene

Artist: Twelve Clay Feet
Label: Kiln Records
RRP: £13.99
Release Date: 11 November 2013

When Cambridge based Twelve Clay Feet released their debut album Totem Bells, mixed by Fraser Smith (Ian Brown / Shed Seven), in February 2012 it was met with high praise. Drawing comparisons to the early sounds of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and even Radiohead - owing much to vocalist / guitarist Ian Jeffs’ appreciation of classic songwriting and his uniquely gruff vocals (Robert Plant / Mark Lanegan) – they were deservedly noted for their grandiose, ambitious approach. The band's second album, More Naked Than Obscene, is now released through Kiln Records...

More Naked Than Obscene opens on the right note with the hard hitting AOR track 'By The Station Light'. This thrusts us into Twelve Clay Feet's world - kicking and screaming.

The album contains 10 tracks, with a running time of approximately 34 minutes.

For me, the highlight has to be 'Cities On Fire' with its mellow verse and infectious chorus. This is the album's beacon. But also worthy of note are the fast-paced 'Rags And Bones' and 'Last Rat In Hamelin'.

It's worth giving Twelve Clay Feet a listen - there's some great material on this album and if you're not already a fan... you soon will be.
