Hartley & Wolfe create something a little different and refreshing. Not quite R'n'B or neo soul, not quite American "urban" or electronica, what we have here are elements of soul and funk mixed with a hint of '70s disco. Bespoke Future starts us off gently. 'You've Got Nothing' is a cross between soft reggae and soul. 'The Little Things' reminded me of the sort of track Prince would have released when he was at the height of his fame. 'What I've Been Told' has a funk style opening and is very much a homage to the '70s. 'Turn The Volume Down' brings us forward to the '80s with an electronic core that brings to mind retro arcade games. 'This World' and 'Never Understand' represent Hartley & Wolfe voyage into rap territory. The album contains 12 tracks and lasts for approximately 52 minutes. It's an interesting album that dips its toes into so many genres, while keeping it's own individual style. Well worth checking out. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
