Sukh's debut album, Kings, has an infectious energy, which makes it hard not to like. I've been listening to this album almost non stop for a week and a just can't get enough. For a debut release this feels more polished and more confident than most bands who have three or four albums under their belt. Almost every track feels like a single in its own right. There's no duff filler tracks here - this is packed with grade A material. Personal highlights include the album's title single 'Kings', which is hard to resist the urge to nod your head and tap your feet to; 'Clear Horizon', a mellow, slow track; and 'Chair', which has an air of Deacon Blue crossed with David Grey's 'Please Forgive Me' about it. If you're looking for a promising new indie band to follow, then Sukh are well worth a listen. There music is far more impressive than you'll be expecting from such a new band. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
