After years of struggling to conceive with her husband, Lizzie has given up hope of having a baby on her own. But when her best friend Andie finds herself pregnant after a one-night stand, an unexpected solution arises: Andie offers to have the baby and give it to Lizzie. The couple agrees to the plan, on one condition: Andie must move in with them for the duration of the pregnancy. But can the women's friendship survive until birth? Jessie McCormack's debut is a refreshingly candid comedy about planning ahead for life's unexpected detours, the score is by Mark Kilian... Mark Kilian's score for Expecting is mainly crammed full of music cues and bland filler music. While I'm sure this works well in the movie, it sounds odd when listened to in isolation. To make matters worse the cues are repeated over and over again. There's one theme, which is "La-La'd" by two female vocalists that keeps rearing its head... Maybe if you've seen the movie this all makes sense and is indeed a beautiful score... but if you haven't seen the film then you're going to be more than a little disappointed by this album. In fact, the only track I enjoyed was 'Screaming And Puking' (58 sec), which has an interesting guitar theme which is built upon - it's a shame more tracks like this weren't included. The score contains 36 tracks and lasts for approximately 41 minutes. For some, this will be a loving memento from the movie... for others, like me, it will be a collection of rather lifeless tracks that go nowhere. 4 Darren Rea Buy this item online
