Inspired by the recent masterpieces of Korean New Wave, Big Bad Wolves is an Israeli crime thriller written and directed by Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado. This revenge film follows the life of a brutal serial killer through the eyes of three people: the father of the latest victim, a vigilante police detective and the likeliest suspect who had just been released from custody. The paths of the three men are bound to collide. The music for Big Bad Wolves was written by Frank Ilfman who has scored over 40 films and television productions, his most recent credits include Dave Roddham’s war-based short Coward (2012), Eytan Fox’s comedy Cupcakes (2013) and the literature-themed documentary Russia’s Open Book, hosted by Stephen Fry... Frank Ilfman's score for Big Bad Wolves contains one central theme. It is a beautiful segment of music, but it appears at the core of almost every track on the soundtrack, and so after a while what was a wonderful theme starts to become a little monotonous. The score contains 18 tracks (55 min). As the main theme is so repetitive, it's hard to single out individual tracks, but 'Big Bad Wolves: Main Theme' is noteworthy as is 'The Missing Girl and Epilogue'. It's an interesting score, but It would have been much better if it hadn't relied on, pretty much, one theme to fill out the entire album. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
