Nate Connelly' debut album A Dream About Being Lost comes hot on the heels of scoring the music for Juno Mak’s Rigor Mortis. The album is a wistful, beguiling blend of the organic and the electronic by an experimental artist growing into his newly-found, songwriter’s skin... Spanning ten tracks (representing 42 mins of music) and featuring guest appearances from vocalist’s Ruby Pemberton and Amy Robina, A Dream About Being Lost moves effortlessly between modern electronic soul, as can be witnessed in ‘Some Faith’, ‘You Echo’, ‘Tired Waiting’ and the title track ‘A Dream About Being Lost’, to the ambient electronics of ‘Similar To A Simulated Simulation’, ‘Would Where I Belong’, ‘Safe From Twelve’ and ‘I Form A Club’. While the album's closing tracks ‘Deadmen’ and ‘Arkham’ explore a more alternative electronic vibe. For a debut album this is impressive. Fans of electronic music should give this a listen. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
