Snowbird duo Stephanie Dosen and Simon Raymonde have crafted an album of exquisite melody and mood that radiates the uncanny mystery of the Moon. Moon is made up of 11 songs composed between two continents; Raymonde was in London while Dosen was in North Carolina. The album contains a second CD of remixes of all of the tracks on Moon by RxGibbs. This second CD is entitled Luna and the two albums consist of 22 tracks (1 hr, 39 min). Moon features a number of guests performers including Radiohead drummer Philip Selway and guitarist Ed O’Brien, Midlake guitarist Eric Pulido and drummer McKenzie Smith and two more gifted guitarists in Paul Gregory (Lanterns On The Lake) and Jonathan Wilson. While Moon is interesting enough, I did start to find the tracks a little too samey and the introduction of RxGibbs Luna remixes did help to elevate this from a so/so album to one that had a lot more life. In fact, I felt that Luna was a much more enjoyable album than Moon. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
