Screamworks Records release Jeff Walton's music for Super Shark, one of the most insanely over-the-top shark features to come out in the last few years. Battling for attention with such titles as Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus and Sharknado, Super Shark takes a blast from the past to increase the terror of its main creature. Helmed by reckless cult filmmaker Fred Olen Ray, the story follows the aftermath of an offshore drilling accident that releases a giant primordial shark seeking to wreak havoc on an unsuspecting beach community. It’s up to marine biologist Kat Carmichael and her reluctant team to destroy the horrible creature before its powered can be harnessed by big business... Jeff Walton's score for Super Shark delivers exactly what you'd expect for this genre of film, only probably a little more polished than it deserves. The score is enjoyable, if instantly forgettable, with no stand out themes. The album contains 19 tracks (36 min) the only pieces of music that I found really interesting were 'Engage the Enemy' (which brought to mind Alan Silvestri's score for Predator); and 'Kat Is Safe' (which houses this album's most beautiful segment of music). It's an above average score, but one that is unlikely to make it onto your regular playlist. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
