Soul Movement 2 is the sequel to Slakah The Beatchild’s 2010 debut. This is another slice of soul / hip-hop in Slakah's (aka Byram Joseph) unique style. Unlike the first album, which had a lot more input from fellow artists, Vol. 2, sees Slakah as more of a solo performer. Sure, there are still collaborations with other artists, like Glenn Lewis, Ayah, Spek Won & Tanika Charles, but the finished album has Slakah's mark firmly stamped on it. The end result is a more grounded, well rounded album that flows much more fluidly. This album dips its toe in so many waters: There's the groovyness of 'Byram-s Groove (Cut A Rug)'; the channelling of Stevie Wonder in 'Number 1'; the jazzy funkiness of 'Miscommunication'; and the discordant creepiness of 'Someone Like That'. Like Slakah's 2011 album Something Forever (Special Edition), Soul Movement - Vol. 2 is an album that just keeps on giving. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
