Jermaine Stegall delivers the score for Jamesy Boy, a prison drama which tells the true story of James Burns who lived the life of a petty criminal among the suburban street gangs of Denver, then suddenly found himself at a maximum-security prison cell surrounded by hardened criminals. There he can chose between survival or taking bigger risks by turning his life around... The plot for Jamesy Boy sounds like it's right for mining some incredible music themes. Sadly, Jermaine Stegall's score fails to deliver much in the way of interesting music. This is mainly a collection of atmospheric and mood tracks - purely and simply designed to not get in the way of the onscreen action. It's sad, because every now and then Stegall shows us that, given a little more creative freedom, he can deliver some beautiful themes. 'Found My Way' is probably the most memorable track here. The album contains 18 tracks (44 min) and will only appeal to those that enjoy music designed to sit quietly in the background. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
