MovieScore Media releases Jeff Toyne's orchestral score to Paul A. Kaufman’s Twist of Faith, a Lifetime original movie starring R’n’B singer Toni Braxton. The film tells the story of Jacob (David Julian Hirsh), a Jewish cantor whose world comes crashing down when he witnesses the murder of his wife and three children. Jacob abandons his identity and eventually finds himself in a small Alabama community where he is embraced by Nina (Braxton), a single mother and her small gospel community who all help Jacob to reconcile with the past and find new meaning in life... Jeff Toyne's score for Twist of Faith contains 12 tracks (33 min). It's a short but very sweet collection of tracks that reminded me of James Horner's output in the '90s (which for me was when he was at his creative peak). In fact 'Main Titles and Jacob's Journey' has elements of Horner's score for Apollo 13. 'Nina and Asher' reminded me of 'Final Montage: The Power of Movies' from Peter Golub's score for These Amazing Shadows; 'Sent by God' is this album's one track that is almost classical in nature; but by far the most beautiful themes are housed in the album's final track, 'Jacob Returns and End Titles'. If you like melancholic scores, like Horner used to release, then you'll totally love Toyne's score for Twist of Faith. The final track will leave you wanting more. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
