Bridget Battles last band might have been a high school choir, but the 21-year-old singer for Cincinnatis Tweens is no goody two shoes. Look no further for proof than Tweens, the punk-tinged debut from the trash-pop trio, showcasing a melodic, driven and exceedingly catchy sound... Tweens only formed in 2012, but already sound like a long established band. There's an infectious air around the trio's punk-infused output. Their debut self-titled album includes 11 tracks (35 min) and it will be all you can do to stop yourself leaping up and moshing around the room. From the first track to the last this is one hell of a collection of songs. I couldn't help notice an eerie similarity with The Breeders output in the '90s and it came as no surprise that Tweens actually toured with The Breeders recently - the two bands make for a natural pairing. It's well worth seeking this album out, especially if you're a bit of a closet punk. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
