American rock trio Lionize release their new album Jetpack Soundtrack through Weathermaker Music.

Jetpack Soundtrack represents an 11-song (42 min) journey through the group’s multi-faceted musical influences - spanning heavy rock, soul and blues - such as Deep Purple, O. V. Wright, Led Zeppelin and Solomon Burke.

This rock how it should be - old school. Heavy on the guitars and with good old fashioned organs (which kind of reminded me of Boston's Third Stage album).

This is a thumping album that sounds like the group has gone back to the golden age of rock, bottled the essence of the genre and brought it kicking and screaming into the modern day. It's an impressive release, that should find a welcome home with many old rockers.
