Screamworks Records releases Jeff Grace's score for Hellbenders, J.T. Petty’s revitalization of the exorcist subgenre based on his own graphic novel. The film tells the story of the Augustine Interfaith Order of Hellbound Saints, a team of unorthodox, blasphemous ministers who live in a constant state of debauchery, trying to drag the worst demons back to Hell where they belong... Jeff Grace's score for Hellbenders contains 13 tracks (34 min, 45 sec). While it has its moments, this wasn't a score I particularly took anything from. This no doubt works incredibly well in the movie, but falls a little flat when listened to on its own merits. Highlights, however, include 'Hellbenders' which houses the score's interesting main theme; 'Aftermath' is a beautiful trippy track; and 'Bumfight' is an upbeat modern track that once again visits the main theme. While not a score I particularly warmed too, I can see how in the movie it would add the right atmosphere. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
