Varèse Sarabande Records release Scott Shields score to TV series Strike Back, the high-octane, globe-spanning thriller with storylines ripped from today's headlines. The show focuses on two members of a top-secret intelligence agency known as Section 20: Michael Stonebridge, a British sergeant on the elite counter-terrorism team, and Damien Scott, a former U.S. Delta Force operative who was discharged on the eve of the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Stonebridge, Scott and the rest of Section 20 crisscross the globe on the trail of a deadly international terrorist named Latif, who is planning a major attack involving a cache of WMD that could have global repercussions... Scott Shields score for Strike Back contains 18 tracks (51 min, 13 sec) and includes The Heavy's 'Short Change Hero', which is the show's main theme. There's no escaping the fact that this is an adrenaline fuelled score that revolves around action/adventure themes. Throw in the occasional foreign male vocal ('Lilian In Church'), to make it sound like we're in the Middle East, and the scene is set. It's an interesting score that will work well as background music if your playing a game like the latest Call of Duty game (the music for those games has, in recent years, become rather dull). While by no means an essential purchase, this will find a welcome home with fans of the show, and anyone who likes a good old action/adventure score. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
