With two singles under their belt, London’s Teleman release their debut album Breakfast. From the pared-back ‘Cristina’, to the modernist proposition of ‘Steam Train Girl’ (both former singles which clocked up plays across Radio 1 and earned themselves Playlist spots on BBC 6Music and Xfm) and new track ‘Lady Low’, variety abounds on Breakfast. Breakfast contains 10 tracks (42 min, 48 sec). First impressions of this album was how diverse the music style was from track to track, but also how much like James the band sound - especially the tracks 'Skeleton Dance' and 'Mainline'. In addition the guitar riff on 'Steam Train Girl' reminded me of Huey Lewis and the News's 'Heart and Soul'. This is a beautiful album, full of wonderfully catchy songs. It opens strongly and closes in the catchiest way imaginable - 'Travel Song' which will rattle around your head for weeks. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
