MovieScore Media releases Sebastián and Emilio Kauderer's soundtrack for Border Run, the human trafficking thriller by Argentinean filmmaker Gabriela Tagliavini. The story follows American journalist Sofie Talbert, who is looking for her brother Aaron in Mexico. Aaron had been working in the country in a relief organisation, but his sudden disappearance gets Sofie more deeply involved in the darker side of Mexican criminal activities. While looking for her brother, she comes in contact with human trafficking, drug smuggling and the fearsome cartels who keep everybody in check...

The soundtrack to Border Run contains 14 tracks (32 min) and while it no doubt adds much atmosphere to the movie, I'm left scratching my head as to why anyone would want to listen to this on its own.

There are no memorable themes; this is wall to wall background music. Whilst tracks like 'Opening' and 'Crossing the Border' do have slightly interesting tunes at their core, they're not ones that you'll want to add to your playlists.

As I always do on a first listen through, I put this on in the background and I didn't even notice when it had finished. I listened to it fully a handful more times, but got very little out of it. While technically it's probably a great score in the movie, as a standalone listening experience it falls a little flat.
