Miles of Lions Records release Rob Simonsen's score to Wish I Was Here. Aidan Bloom is a struggling actor, father and husband, who at 35 is still trying to find his identity; a purpose for his life. He winds up trying to home school his two children when his father can no longer afford to pay for private education and the only available public school is on its last legs. Through teaching them about life his way, Aidan gradually discovers some of the parts of himself he couldn't find... The score for Wish I Was Here is made up of 13 tracks (21 min, 10 sec) and is more an EP than an album. Rob Simonsen's music is mellow, and rather sweet - the perfect score for the film's subject matter. The tracks are mainly made up of acoustic guitar and piano led segments. 'Fixing the Fence' reminded me of Radiohead's 'No Surprise' from their 1997 album OK, Computer. An enjoyable, if somewhat short album. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
