Silva Screen Records releases John Lunn's score for the BBC TV adaptation of Philippa Gregory's The White Queen, the first book in her best-selling The Cousins' War trilogy. Set against the backdrop of The War Of The Roses, this riveting story of the women caught up in the ongoing conflict for the throne was aired in the summer 2013 and has since gatherer a strong worldwide following. The lavish and costly 10 hour series, co-produced by premium US TV cable channel Starz was sold worldwide and a second series is under consideration at present... John Lunn's score for The White Queen contains 23 tracks, with a running time of 49 min, 56 sec. It's an interesting soundtrack, with some incredibly beautiful themes (like 'God's Calling'; 'Seeds Of Doubt'; and 'King Richard III'). There were also a handful of tracks were I was reminded, ever so briefly, of Akira Senju's score for Japanese anime series Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The opening of 'Return To Me'; 'Where Do I Stand'; and 'My Boys' sounded very similar to 'Beyond the Walls'. This is an enjoyable score which will be welcomed by fans of the show, as well as collector's of complex, beautiful scores. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
