Having recently revealed new single, ‘Out Getting Ribs’, to instant acclaim, Laura Jae now returns with an EP that sits somewhere between the darkly atmospheric tones of James Blake and The xx, the experimental sentiments of Bjork and the gritty melodies of King Krule... Laura Jae's new EP, Silver Lined Hearts, contains 6 tracks (24 min, 02 sec), and is the perfect vehicle for her to showcase her vocal talents. If you've not heard the electro-cinematic soul singer before, then you're in for a treat. Over the course of this EP, Jae makes us fall in love with her voice and delivery. Her range is impressive, from the raspy low notes of 'Numb' to the beautiful high parts of 'Let Go'. Add to this the fact that this is free to download, and it begs the question why you're still here reading my thoughts on this... take a listen yourself... 9 Nick Smithson |
