Milan Records releases Will Bates and Phil Mossman's soundtrack for I Origins. The film tells the story of Dr. Ian Gray, a molecular biologist studying the evolution of the eye. He finds his work permeating his life after a brief encounter with an exotic young woman who slips away from him. As his research continues years later with his lab partner Karen, they make a stunning scientific discovery that has far reaching implications and complicates both his scientific and spiritual beliefs. Traveling half way around the world, he risks everything he has ever known to validate his theory... I really enjoyed Will Bates and Phil Mossman's score for I Origins. It has a powerful, memorable and slightly eerie main theme which is echoed throughout. The soundtrack contains 17 tracks (53 min, 41 sec) and also includes songs performed by The Do, Fall on Your Sword (which is Bates's and Mossman's group), Radiohead and Phaedon Papadopoulos. Bates and Mossman's score is light, a little trippy, and certainly a soundtrack you can chill out to. This is the sort of album you put on in the background when you want to sit with your own thoughts. It's not a score where you can break it down and play your favourite tracks - it needs to be listened to as one long piece. If you enjoyed the film then you'll want to pick this up as soon as possible, and for those coming to this raw, you'll be pleasantly surprised. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
