UK alt-folk singer songwriter Terry Emm releases his third album. Starlight, which follows 2012’s Petals Fallen Off The Sun and 2009’s White Butterflies, was produced by Michael Clarke (Clarkesville, Andy Burrows) and features strings by Calina De La Mare (Sophia, Tindersticks). The album contains 10 tracks (34 min, 13 sec) and as indie based folk albums go, it doesn't come much more infectious than this. 'Forever and After' is an upbeat pop-based track that brought to mind The Rembrandts' "I'll Be There for You" which was used as the theme tune to American TV show Friends. The opening to 'Resound' reminded me of James Blunt's 'You're Beautiful'. While it's doubtful that this is an album that you'll revisit in the future, as an LP for this summer it ticks all the right boxes. 7 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
