Varèse Sarabande Records release The Newton Brothers score from Life of Crime. Based on Elmore Leonard's novel The Switch, Life of Crime is a dark caper comedy that sees the wife of a corrupt real estate developer kidnapped by two common criminals. The kidnappers intend to extort him with inside information about his crooked business and off-shore accounts. But the husband decides he'd actually rather not pay the ransom to get back his wife, setting off an unbelievable sequence of double crosses and plot twists that could only come from the mind of Elmore Leonard... The Newton Brothers's score for Life of Crime contains 16 tracks (37 min, 31 sec). It has a kind of a retro charm about it. However, for those not a fan of disco funk music there are more modern themes housed in tracks like 'Mickey & Louis' (which also houses this album's most beautiful theme). If you're a fan of the movie, or of The Newton Brothers work then you'll enjoy this... For the rest of us this won't be an album that will be dug out and listened to very often. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
