Devon’s These Reigning Days have recently supported Metronomy, made festival appearances at Glastonbury, Hop Farm, Liverpool Sound City and Boardmasters, as well as an appearance in front of 60,000 fans at Milan’s San Siro Stadium, which consequently nudged their track 'Too Late' to the top of the Italian charts. Opera Of Love, is the trio's new album. Opening track 'Stand Down', is an upbeat number that kicks us off on the right footing. This is a positive, mainstream indie rock album that screams class. The album contains 13 tracks (46 min, 17 sec) and the vibe that is captured here appears to reproduce some of the energy that their live shows must be overflowing with. As the tracks roll on, we get a taste of how diverse their tastes and influences are. There's the raw indie rock sound of tracks like 'Opera of Love' and 'Shine On'; There's the James Bond-esque guitar riff at the heart of 'Too Late'; and the slow, chilled out 'I Need Time'. This is certainly a band worth following. As indie rock goes, they don't come much finer than this. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
