David Ashley's new album, Perfect Dark, is an interesting entry into the rap market. The "N" word feature prominently in just about every track, but more bizarrely is a rather odd, high-pitched "scoot" vocalisation that Ashley throws in every now and then on the occasional track. The end result is not unlike listening to a very musically gifted Tourette syndrome sufferer.

The album contains 10 tracks (40 min, 14 sec) the majority of the tracks bordering on a rap/RnB crossover. It's a laid back, chill out album that is worth picking up if you're looking for a new mellow rap album.
