Lakeshore Records releases Rachel Portman's score for Dolphin Tale 2. The movie continues the story of the brave dolphin Winter, whose miraculous rescue and recovery - thanks to a groundbreaking prosthetic tail - made her a symbol of hope and perseverance to people around the world and inspired the 2011 family hit movie Dolphin Tale... Rachel Portman's (Belle, The Right Kind of Wrong) score for Dolphin Tale 2 contains 19 tracks (49 min, 27 sec) and is bursting with beautiful themes. Not to take anything away from Portman's incredible composing, but I was reminded, in spirit, of the great James Horner's work in the '90s. Particularly his scores for Casper and Bicentennial Man. The score has one very noticeable main theme, which is echoed throughout the album (most beautifully on 'I’ll Come Back / Hazel On the Roof'). Thankfully it's such a wonderfully intricate theme that Portman's reliance on it doesn't feel forced or lazy. It's simply so beautiful a piece that it's welcomed every time it raises its head. Fans of Horner's work will totally fall in love with this album. One of Portman's most enchanting and magical scores to date. 10 Darren Rea Buy this item online
