Howe Records is releasing three expanded collector’s edition soundtracks celebrating the 35th anniversary of the collaboration between celebrated filmmaker David Cronenberg and Academy Award®-winning composer Howard Shore with the release of collector’s edition soundtracks for Dead Ringers, Naked Lunch and Crash. The three previously out-of-print albums each contains significant bonus material that has never before been released on CD... I'm not a fan of William Seward Burroughs II, didn't much care for David Cronenberg's movie and find Howard Shore's score major disappointment. The problem with all three is the same - they're a jumbled mess, self indulgent and rather dull. Now, if you're a fan of jazz then you'll get a real kick out of this. Likewise if you like your music disjointed and with all jazz musicians playing to their own internal music, ignoring everything else that is going on in the room... you'll be in hog's heaven. The score opens with 'Naked Lunch' and you'll be forgiven for thinking you're in a old Film Noir private dick film. But as the tracks move forward it starts to unravel and... well, there wasn't anything here I would want to listen to again. This score features 16 minutes of previously unreleased material - if you're interested. 2 Darren Rea Buy this item online
