Lakeshore Records release Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans's score for The One I Love. On the brink of separation, Ethan and Sophie escape to a beautiful vacation house for a weekend getaway in an attempt to save their marriage. What begins as a romantic and fun retreat soon becomes surreal, when an unexpected discovery forces the two to examine themselves, their relationship, and their future... Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans's score for The One I Love is a mellow, often sweet, collection of tracks. The album is fairly short, containing 15 tracks (28 min, 28 sec) but there are some interesting themes. The album opens with 'The Arrival' which in places sounds a little sci-fi, in fact I was reminded of James Horner's score for Cocoon, and is a great way to start the album... But then this is followed by the pointless 8 sec music cue 'The One I Love'. 'Duplicity' is interesting the first listen through, as it's unsettling and rather odd. But I doubt you'd want to listen to it very often. And that, I'm afraid is how I viewed most of the tracks here. They're all interesting, and I'm sure they work well in the movie, but it's not an album I'd want to listen to for pleasure. 5 Darren Rea Buy this item online
