ScreamWorks Records release Arnau Bataller's score for [Rec]4: Apocalypse. This is the final chapter of the Spanish horror series which (mostly) follow the adventures of television reporter Ángela Vidal, who accidentally comes across a groundbreaking story about an infection that turns people into zombies. Hailed as a ground-breaking experiment with the first person / found footage format, the series now comes to a close with the final chapter on Ángela’s battle with the disease... Arnau Bataller's score for [Rec]4: Apocalypse was a pleasant surprise. For the fourth in the Swedish horror franchise, I wasn't expecting to listen to such a rich, multi-layered collection of themes. But then I should have realised this wasn't going to be your run-of-the-mill horror score; Bataller was the composer of The Brotherhood, another beautiful score. While [Rec]4: Apocalypse isn't quite as interesting as The Brotherhood, over the course of its 14 tracks (44 min, 06 sec) there's a good balance of atmospheric music and beautiful themes. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
