Lakeshore Records release the various artists soundtrack to Dear White People, which features hot songs by Hopsin, Starchild & The New Romantic, Mibbs, and Caught a Ghost. The unexpected election of activist Samantha White as head of a traditionally black residence hall sets up a college campus culture war that challenges conventional notions of what it means to be black. But no one at Winchester University is prepared for the outrageous, ill-conceived annual Halloween party, with its "unleash your inner Negro" theme throwing oil on an already smoldering fire of resentment and misunderstanding. When the party descends into riotous mayhem, everyone must choose a side... The various artists soundtrack to Dear White People is not only a wonderfully colourful souvenir of the musical styles in the movie, but it's also a great collection of modern tracks. The album contains 13 songs (47 min, 41 sec) and opens with the infectious 'Mr. Blackman'. Other highlights include the soul based 'Stalker'; and 'Temple', which is a beautiful stripped back song. The album closes with the club anthem 'No New Leaders' and the indie track 'Sleeping At Night (Dear White People Remix)' Rarely does a various artists soundtrack come together as well as it does here. From the first to the last track, this is wonderful collection of songs. Track listing: 01 - 'Mr. Blackman' - Hopsin 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
