MovieScore Media releases John Lunn's score for Electricity, the latest film by director Bryn Higgins, based on a novel by Ray Robinson. The film follows the life of Lily O’Connor, a young girl who lives her regular life as the cashier of a seaside amusement park. When her mother passes away, Lily vows to track down her missing younger brother, but her investigation is complicated by the girl’s medical condition. Every so often, Lily is prone to epileptic fits that lead to dazzling visuals, mesmerizing sights, harrowing visuals and the occasional complete darkness... John Lunn's score for Electricity contains a handful of intriguing themes, but as a whole it's nothing to get too excited about. The main reason being that it's really a score that's meant to sit quietly in the background of the film adding subtle cues to the onscreen action. And in that respect it is a functional score that works as intended. Unfortunately it was never really designed as a standalone album and so is a bit of a bland listening experience when played in isolation. While it's a mellow, chilled out affair that some might enjoy, personally I didn't find much here that would make me want to play it again any time soon. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online
