La-La Land Records release Henry Jackman and Matthew Margeson's score for Kingsman: The Secret Service. Based on the comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn, the film tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined, but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius... It's probably not a huge surprise, given the plot of the movie, that Henry Jackman and Matthew Margeson's score for Kingsman: The Secret Service "borrows" from the best. Throughout this album I was constantly reminded of John Barry's work for the James Bond movies (most notably his work in the the '80s). Tracks like 'Shame We Had to Grow Up' also lean on Barry's '70s Bond scores. In addition there's hints of David Arnold's score for Casino Royale and Alan Silverstri's main theme from The Avengers. The score contains 15 tracks (46 min, 28 sec) and for those, like me, who love old Bond scores, this is like discovering a lost album. Well worth adding to your collection. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
