Myles Manley's More Songs is not quite long enough to be an album in its own right, and too long to be an EP. It's a rather odd collection of tracks. It opens with arguably the strongest song 'Pay Me What I'm Worth', but Manley's vocals are a little whiney. 'Ordinary Love' sees Manley dip a toe into soft grunge, and with pretty impressive results. 'I Love Her Family' is a little weird, slow track that goes nowhere. And 'Grinding' sees Manley screeching like a cat - it's a bit of a painful experience. There are two other tracks, but they made almost no impression on me at all. I only really enjoyed two tracks on this album, and on balance it's not an album I'll be listening to again any time soon. 4 Nick Smithson |
