La-La Land Records release Frederik Wiedmann's score for Dying of the Light. The film stars Nicolas Cage as Evan Lake, a veteran CIA agent, who has been ordered to retire. But when his protégé uncovers evidence that Lake's nemesis, the terrorist Banir, has resurfaced, Lake goes rogue, embarking on a perilous, intercontinental mission to eliminate his sworn enemy... Frederik Wiedmann rarely disappoints. Yet again, he delivers a powerful and memorable epic score that you will not only enjoy now, but are sure to dig out in months and years to come. Over the course of this album's 21 tracks (47 min, 07 sec), there were little moments, here and there, that reminded me of Harry Gregson-Williams's score for the Call of Duty IV game (most notable in the track 'Becoming Cornel. While there is the odd atmospheric track, these are tension building moments and don't really stand out as filler material. If you're not already snapping up every Wiedmann album being released, you should certainly start doing so. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
