MovieScore Media presents the latest addition to its Discovery Collection, Bartek Gliniak’s unnerving music from Konrad Niewolski 2006 thriller, Palimpsest: A Hypnotic Mystery. The film follows the investigation of police officer who is engaged in a cat-and-mouse game with a dangerous killer - but as it turns out, he may be both the perpetrator and the investigator. While Inspector Marek tries to find the killer of his former partner, he gets more involved with his personal demons as well as haunting memories of femme fatale Hanna, the mesmerizing woman who had lead to the break-up of the partnership a few years earlier... Bartek Gliniak’s score for Palimpsest: A Hypnotic Mystery is an interesting and very unusual collection of eerie tracks. Usually, scores of this nature don't transform very well when not accompanied by the onscreen imagery. Yes, there is a lot of atmospheric background music, but this provides a creepy, pending fear that is hypnotic to listen to. The album contains 6 tracks (43 min, 45 sec) and opens with the hauntingly beautiful 'Hanna', closing with the equally impressive 'Awakening'. While not an essential purchase, there are enough moments here to make it an album that will have you revisiting it time and time again. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
