Lakeshore Records release Atli Örvarsson's score for season two of Chicago Fire. The show is an edge-of-your-seat view into the lives of everyday heroes committed to one of America’s noblest professions. No job is more stressful, dangerous or exhilarating than those of the firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. These courageous men and women are among the elite who forge headfirst into danger when everyone else is running the other way. The enormous responsibilities of the job also take a personal toll, but despite any differences this is an extended family and when it is “go time,” everyone inside Firehouse 51 knows no other way than to lay it all on the line for each other... Atli Örvarsson's score for season two of Chicago Fire builds on his music from the first season. Once again it incorporates some moving themes, as you'd expect if you're a fan of the show. It also includes a few more action themes than the first album. It's an impressive electronic soundtrack, which, while feeling modern, is just subtle enough to ensure that it is sure to age well. There's enough quality themes here to ensure that non-fans of the show will find much to enjoy too. It's the sort of album you could put on in the background while you read a book. It's mellow, in places, adrenaline fuelled in others... it's certainly a score worth checking out. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
