Incidents & Accidents is the follow up to Dan Walsh’s Same But Different. This time around we get to hear Dan in a more stripped back format with a few guest appearances from Patsy Reid (fiddle), Nic Zuppardi (mandolin), Mark Hutchinson (percussion/vocals) and Canadian singer Meaghan Blanchard. First things first, if you don't like folk and you hate the sound of the banjo... this album is really not for you. There are 11 tracks (seven songs and four instrumentals) coming in at 41 min, 16 sec. I have to confess that I personally found the instrumental tracks the most enjoyable (with the exception of the sweet vocal track 'Dancing in the Wind'. The instrumental 'Whiplash Reel' is interesting as it appears to mix western, American and Middle Eastern music into one improvised piece. Likewise, 'The Tune Set' is an instrumental track that rockets along. If you're a fan of Walsh then you'll know what you're letting yourself in for. Casual folk listeners may find this a bit too heavy going. 5 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
